Without exaggeration, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is the most convenient place to come in Vietnam. It has everything and services in the world, great food, nice historical and modern landscape. You can even enjoy the sea breeze without the need to book a stay near the beaches, because there are some beaches that you can go back an forth in a day from Saigon. Here are some recommendations:


  1. Vung Tau – 2 hours 10 minutes from Saigon

Vung Tau is obviously the best choice for tourists and locals if they want an instant escape from the city. With only 2 hours, you can go to this seaside city on either bikes or buses. Sounds like a sweet plan huh? Leaving the city from early morning, enjoy your Mojito on a couch, watching the sea waves in front of you and taste delicious seafood while soaking your feet into the white sand, take a long nap and go back to enjoy Saigon night at pm, when the sun is down and the temperature gets cooler. As Vung Tau is a favourite stops, the bus services is various and operated all time of the day, so don’t worry about the schedule, keep enjoying your time.


  1. Ho Tram Beach – 2 hours 30 minutes from Saigon

If you are looking for an unspoiled seaside to stay away from the crowd, 20 more minutes to Ho Tram Beach is totally worth it. A little bit further, but in return, you have this beautiful, crystal clear water, fine sand and palm trees, too perfect for a castaway. There’s also a wide range of accommodation options with expansive views of the East Sea, while thatched seafood restaurants close to the Ho Tram fishing village offers deck chairs and camping facilities at affordable rates.

  1. Ho Coc Beach – 2 hours 30 minutes from Saigon

From Ho Tram beach, if you go North a bit, you can get to Ho Coc Beach. Although there are some high-end to mid-end resorts there, you can still find some untouched beaches along five kilometers coast filled up with find sands, which is perfect for sunbathing and chill out. The water here is a little bit unpredictable so if you are a weak swimmers, make sure to have local guide with you or stay near the shore. The seafood here is also fantastic and super fresh. If you have a local friends beside, try to find the local fishing village to buy a lot of good seafood with very affordable price.


  1. Long Hai Beach – 2 hours 30 minutes from Saigon

Located about 100 kilometers southeast from Ho Chi Minh City. Long Hai is very popular among local population during the weekend. Hence, there are a lot of beach activities happen here. There are Hippy bars, seafood eateries, and water sports facilities at a affordable prices. If you want to spend some more time to explore the sea at night, there are a wide range of expansive resorts with stylish rooms and villas overlooking the East Sea. Beside motorbike, you can choose private car or ferry from District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City.


  1. Doi Duong – 3 hours 55 minutes from Saigon



This beach is the farest beach from Saigon, as it can be found just outside Phan Thiet. So, if you’re not sure about your motorbike-riding skills, we recommend to catch a private car. This is a prominent costal town with wide sandbar that houses a lot of beachfront resorts and hotels. In here,  travellers can relax on sunbeds, enjoy water sports or spend some good time in spa sessions. There are also some Golf Course like Ocean Dunes Golf Club, just a 20-minute walk from the beach. This place is quite far so think about taking off early if you want to go back within a day.
