Maisen Bistro is a cool place to have dinner with your friends or beloved one in Binh Thanh District. There are some interesting facts about this place that we want to share. The decision is yours!
ABOUT THE PLACE
Location: Maisen Bistro’s address is 56 Nguyen Van Lac, Ward 19, Binh Thanh District (click to see maps) and very near to Thi Nghe Market.
The restaurant: This is actually a restaurant for Maisen Vocational Center’s students to practice their cooking and hospitality skills. That’s mean all the food you have is from the students here. In return, the price is very acceptable if not considered cheap. That’s why I didn’t say that this is an excellent restaurant, but it’s truly great to taste the food from people who are growing their cooking dream and give them some encouragement for their future. In fact, the food is not actually 5 stars but in my opinion, it’s good and can be given 8 out of 10.
The staff: The staff here are very young and trying hard to be better, that’s why they are very enthusiastic. They can be a bit nervous, especially the waiters and waitresses, so please give them a smile and a warm ‘thank you’ to give them some confidence.
The Style: One thing I really like from this restaurant is it has romantic, light-hearted and charming style. In the out-door we have poetic view with big tree and a lot of strings (i don’t know what kind of plant it is lol). To the inside, we have clean, nice-decorated western style tables. The air is cool enough and the space is pretty quiet with soft music. They also have highchair for babies, it looks like parents enjoy eating here a lot.
Buying yet? Great! Let’s move to the best part:
Maisen Bistro serves both of Western and Eastern dishes, and a lot of interesting choice of drinks. For the Western food, we have options from French style, Italian style, Germany style. For Asian food we have choices from Thailand, Vietnam…
I couldn’t try them all so I gave Western food a try this time. It’s worth the price. I ordered Frankfurter sausage, fried potato, sauerkraut and mustard for my main, it’s only VND 105,000. My girlfriend ordered Lasagna Bolognese, it’s 125,000. We also shared a Pumpkin soup with smoky bacon for appetizer. For the drinks, I had Homemade Lime Juice with butter rum syrupt, and a Lime Lemonade with peppermint for my girlfriend. Below is the review:
The soup: Creamy & tasty, bacon is good and the texture is good, just need to be a bit heavier to get the top-notch. Great choice to start a good time.
The Sausage: First impression, it’s hugeeee, may be it’s because I’m a small Vietnamese guy haha. The sausage is succulent, juicy, I’m not sure it’s Frankfurt style or the seasoning is a bit salty to me. Fried potato is good and the sauerkraut is yummy to me.
The Lasagna: Super delicious with nice-arranged layers of ingredients. The sauce is excellent, nothing to complain 🙂
The Drinks: Both of the drinks taste pretty strange and interesting, need to be adjust a bit to make the flavor less heavy.
They also sell cakes but we were so full, what a pity!
Overall, we had a good experience in this place, the food is good enough for a nice time with your family/friends/lover. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is superb. Highly recommend the place and we will definitely come back
